I once got to know a person who seem to be having a strong desire to succeed in life. This person will go around, telling people that he will, one day achieve his goals and dreams. Initially, everyone seems to believe in him, as he usually portrayed a very confidence front. However, after a few encounters, I realized that this person has a few close friends, and most of the “surface” friends don’t have a very good impression of him.
And there was once when I participated in a huge seminars with probably a few thousands individuals participating as well. As this was my first motivational seminar, I was shocked by the way these people behaves! They are highly charged up and highly motivated! Nothing seems to be able to stop them from achieving anything they want to achieve. However, it did occurred to me, if there are thousands of super hyper charged individuals attending such seminars, how come only a handful of them really make it and live their dreams?
That is where I realized the power of taking actions. Truly successful people constantly take actions, receive feedbacks, and continue to take actions until they achieve what they set out to achieve. I started to realize many people who desire to succeed would take certain actions, however, they tend to giveup once they encounter obstacles. So they continue to invest in seminars, thinking of “re-charging” themselves and go out again. However, they are still back to square one, unable to overcome their obstacles.
Some others will go and get highly motivated, but do nothing once they are out of the seminar, giving tons of excuses, and constantly procrastinating, choosing to believe that they are too old to learn, do not have enough time, too little money to make money, and the list goes on.
These people failed to realize the true power of taking necessary actions. It is not so much about taking any kinds of actions. It is about the right actions that will propels you forward instead of walking round the bush, and believing that you are actually closer to your goals.
Taking the right and necessary actions means that eventhough it may be extremely uncomfortable and tough. It is about taking conscious actions and understanding the feedbacks. So if anyone wants to be successful, taking the right and necessary actions is definitely one of the critical success factors.
