What do you suppose this quote means?

What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.

  1. For example, you may attain a goal of becoming super rich, and then when you achieve that status, you decide to dedicate yourself to helping others by lending your time and allocating some of your fortune to charitable causes.

You have achieved your goal, and then decided to become benevolent and empathetic, rather than just hoarding the money.
